Summit recap
IFB at the 2026 FRLA Summit
Two days in the Sponsor Marketplace at the Hard Rock Hotel on August 19 and 20, 2026.
The short answer
We spent two days at the Summit reading policies at the booth for anyone who brought one, and hearing the same thing from owner after owner: they only ever get one quote at renewal.
PIER 22 of Bradenton took home the iPad. If you entered and did not win, the free policy review is still on the table and it does not expire with the show.
Proud sponsor of the 2026 FRLA Summit

Congratulations
PIER 22, the waterfront restaurant on the Manatee River in downtown Bradenton, took home the iPad from our booth. We asked the FRLA team to make the draw. PIER 22 has been on that waterfront for fifty years.
What owners told us at the booth
Owner after owner told us the same thing, in almost the same words: I only ever get one quote. Sometimes the broker says the other quotes never came back. Sometimes the owner is told only one or two carriers will write his class at all.
It is worth testing, because it is often not true. One operator we spoke with had been told there were two markets in his state for his type of business. We went to ours and several said they would quote it. Whether those turn into real numbers depends on the account, but two was not the ceiling.
We wrote the longer version of this, including how commission differences can decide which quote you get shown and how a broker of record letter actually works, on how we shop your policy.
Michael Sabino and Kyle Krzastek were at the booth
Michael Sabino has been writing restaurants, taverns, nightclubs and social clubs since 1993, and he and Kyle Krzastek were both at the booth. Kyle handles a lot of the new Florida accounts.
The booth offer was simple: bring nothing, and if you had a policy or a renewal number on you, we would read it right there. Most of what an owner wants to know takes about five minutes.
One thing we told every owner to check: some policies carry a warranty that mandates alcohol training such as TIPS, and if your staff has not been trained the carrier can deny the claim. It is the kind of clause nobody reads until it matters.
Our Florida office
Florida is where we are growing now. Same carriers, same approach, and the same people reading your policy. We are in Boca Raton year round, not just at the show.
