Posts, lodges and clubs
Insurance for social clubs, posts and lodges
A club bar is not a restaurant, and it should not be underwritten like one. We have written New Jersey clubs since 1993 and we know which carriers understand a members-only room.

The clubs we write
Social clubs are a large part of our New Jersey book. We write American Legion posts, VFW posts, Knights of Columbus councils, Columbian Clubs, Moose lodges, Fraternal Order of Eagles aeries, Fleet Reserve Association branches and Disabled American Veterans chapters.
We also write the ethnic and fraternal clubs that anchor a lot of New Jersey towns: Italian American, Polish American, German American, Portuguese American and Slovak clubs, along with athletic clubs, yacht clubs and sportsmen's associations.
If your club serves alcohol to members, rents the hall out, or runs a kitchen, you carry most of the same exposure a tavern does. The difference is that a lot of carriers price clubs off restaurant assumptions that do not fit. We market the account to the carriers that write clubs properly.
Recent social club savings
Same coverage or better, at a lower premium.
| Account | Was paying | With IFB | Saved |
|---|---|---|---|
| Social club in Ocean County, NJIFB bound | $25,375.35 | $15,512.55 | $9,862.8039% less |
In the same period we saved a social club in Mercer County $2,201 and one in Camden County $4,165. Every club is different, and a policy review costs nothing.
What the club program includes
Liquor liability, assault and battery for a fight at the bar, and fire and windstorm on the building. These are the three that decide whether a club claim gets paid.

Liquor Liability
Claims for harm caused after a drink was served, also called dram shop.

Assault and Battery
Fights, ejections, and force used by your security staff.

General Liability
Injuries to customers, on the premises and away from it.

Commercial Property Coverage
Building and personal property: fire, wind, and water.
The clause that gets club claims denied
Some policies carry a warranty that mandates alcohol training such as TIPS. If the people pouring have not been trained, the carrier can deny the claim outright. At a club that often means volunteers and members behind the bar, not career bartenders, which is exactly the situation the warranty is written to catch.
We check for that clause on every policy we review, and we tell you if it is there whether or not you move your business to us.
